
One of the major strengths of the CAPS-5 includes its behaviorally based anchors for all ratings and its guidelines for evaluating current and lifetime PTSD. One example of the value of the CAPS anchors is that they increase the capacity of the CAPS to assess PTSD because people may express posttraumatic symptoms differently.
It is also wise for clinicians and researchers to appreciate the limits of our knowledge and to administer and interpret measures of psychopathology in a cautious and culturally sensitive way.
