Each facility needs to have a SPHM Facility Coordinator (FC). This person leads the program, assessing the needs in clinical areas in cooperation with staff and managers.
The SPHM FC trains and leads the Unit Peer Leaders, setting up a system to train employees on their equipment and SPHM concepts.
The FC investigates lifting/repositioning incidents and works toward solutions in order to prevent injuries. They report trends and needs to a facility Committee, leadership, and all stakeholders.
If you have safe patient handling and mobility questions, you can always ask Unit Peer Leaders or the SPHM Facility Coordinator.
